Aloha Everyone,
Thank you for a great Birthday Celebration on the beach last Saturday. I enjoyed being on the beach with all of you and I got to do what I enjoy best – paddling and hanging at the beach with my family and Rec Ohana.
There were some alumni Rec Ohana who showed up with some family and friends too. Masa brought his family visiting from the mainland, Maria Z. & Sharon D. made a guest appearance, Cheryl L. is always a joy to see again and most important was Mrs. Coach. She brought stew and rice for lunch and my favorite birthday cake, German Chocolate Cake – made from scratch! ONO-LICIOUS, MRS. COACH! ONO-LICIOUS!
I enjoyed two special moments that day – first was selecting a hand-picked crew of men for a fierce few moments of intense paddling (we were “Fast & Furious” on the water)…this F&F crew consisted of Coach Kimo, Everett, Travis F., Jimmy Aka, Randy N., & Coach Ken…thanks for the workout guys!
Second was meeting with our Rec steers people and coaches for some strategic paddling in making Rec a better ministry and club. One of our main goals was to bring a better awareness of responsibility to our paddlers and expanding our area of activities on the beach. There is a lot more we could do than just beginners paddling. So, stay tuned for more info because later on, we will be expanding our program to better serve all returning paddlers.
I wanted to end by saying a special Mahalo to Ulu and Lita – thank you for covering the admin and communications; they have been an absolute BIG TIME blessing to us in this ministry.
God bless you all – See you on da beach,
Coach Kimo
