Aloha Everyone,
I have a wedding planner friend who has a business slogan that goes like this; “You tie the knot, and we’ll take care of the loose ends.” Well, last Saturday night, our newly married couple, Coach Ken and Denise Kobashigawa, did exactly that, at their home in Kaneohe. They both hosted an after-wedding reception that literally brought alumni Rec paddlers “out of the woodwork.”
Amy, Tui & Keala, Dan & Allyson, Eric & Paula, Janell, Jenn, Rowen, Sarah & Mom, Alan & Linda, Sandi, Raine, Lita & Jimmy, Keala &Tosh, Robert, Troy, Ku & Ulu, Patty B., Maria, Sharon Sing and Kehau. The ones that I noticed missing were Travis, Adele, Kristin, and Micah. If you were not able to attend or I forgot to mention you – please forgive me.
Between Lita and Maria, working along with Coach Ken and Denise, they put this together rather quickly but it turned out super successful in the end. The evening was filled with wonderful stories and memories of times past. Many testimonies were shared of times past with Ken and Denise.
If I was to identify a main theme that was circulating in conversations that night, it would be, looking forward to “a new season ahead.” Even though many of our alumni may never return to Rec paddling, it was a joy to see how their lives have moved ahead and how God is using them in new areas of service and fulfillment.
When you have time, please read Ecclesiastes 3:1-8 (first verse)
“For everything there is a season, a time for every activity under heaven.”
Timing is important. All the experiences listed in these verses are appropriate at certain times. The secret to peace with God is to discover, accept, and appreciate God’s perfect timing. The danger is to doubt or resent God’s timing. This can lead to despair, rebellion, or moving ahead without his advice.
Here’s the final outcome, we will all be judged for our actions. When it’s all said and done, when we’ve moved on to be with our Lord, there will be an accounting for our actions on earth. (Matthew 12:36)
What is in your future? What daily actions are you taking to make your temporary life here on earth be more accountable to Him?
God bless you and Congratulations to Coach Ken and Denise
-Coach Kimo
