COACH'S COMMENTS, 02-07-09

“His unchanging plan has always been to adopt us into his own family…” EPH 1:5

Aloha Everyone,

This is the beginning of a verse that strikes right at the heart of our Rec Ohana philosophy.. WE ARE FAMILY!

We share each other’s lives, we have stronger ties, sometimes more than our own “blood” families, and we care that the message of salvation always remains intact.

When things get tough in the outside world - we can come down to the beach and paddle together.

If you want to vent and share, you can..or, you don’t have to share anything at all.

Just climb into the canoe, paddle with your team, and trust in the Lord to help you sort things out.

That person paddling in front of you is probably going through the same things you are – maybe worse.

At least you know you’re part of a cause - you’re part of a group that doesn’t threaten or pressure you.

Your commonality is your canoe, your team, your sweat and your work equity.

That translates into trust, confidentiality, restoration, and love.

Even if you don’t share a word about your problems or hurts, just knowing that our group prays for you, is a God-given gift.

We don’t take the responsibility lightly.

Paddling is just a tool; a vehicle and means to connect us all together, with Him.

I’m glad the Lord adopted me into this family,

and thankful he allows paddling as a way to vent my frustrations

through the expressions of His love as seen through others…and sometimes, I don’t even deserve it.

What about you, you got family?

Are you in need of a means to work through your frustrations, like paddling?

Would you like someone to share with? Would you like a team to share with?

Here’s the end of verse Eph. 1:5; “..by bringing us to himself through Jesus Christ.”

It’s God’s plan – not ours!

GOD BLESS YOU!!!
