Just an FYI, General Growth Properties, owners of Ala Moana and some other stores (I think Don Quijote) is about to file for bankruptcy. This means, if you have Ala Moana or shopping center specific gift certificates, use them fast. If they file, they will liquidate by December 31, 2008. The stores will not honor the gift cards after the liquidation as they will not be able to get the money back from General Growth. I got this info from our insurance carrier as they just had an emergency meeting with the owners. Do not buy any gift cards from Ala Moana (and other GGP malls).
