Aloha Everyone, …from May 10th
This is Coach Kimo, hope your week is going great. This will be a short newsletter.
First of all, thank you for always making our BOTB a huge success. I want to thank our quest song leader guitarist , Masa the Mighty Warrior Paddler, for the worship songs we sang before paddling this Saturday. It set the right tone for the whole day.
The BOTB kitchen staff led by “Chef” Mrs. Coach, Ululani and company, helped keep our food tent buzzing with activity and ono-grinds.
Thanks to NHCC Na Opio crews and families for joining us on the beach. I was blessed to have their Keiki Coach, Chris Ogino, and her staff join us this Saturday. Dave Adams counted 82 in our second circle…and more people kept on arriving after that. Praise God!
You’re going to enjoy this Saturday on the water – we plan on going around the island…again! And, I want to add another activity as well, but I’ll wait until Saturday to show you.
Before we go out, however, we always want to provide some training time to review the club paddling stroke, water safety, and canoe “huli” instructions.
I need to keep awareness at an all time high…in the water and on the beach! So, I need your eyes and ears for safety and watching each other’s backs…thanks.
Another area that will be continuing to grow for us is our “physically challenged” and adaptive paddlers Ohana. More inquiries are being made as a result of Coach Aka Hemmings efforts in providing more availability to our canoe clubs resources through Rec Paddling. So be on the look out for more adaptive paddler groups joining us on Saturday mornings.
“My message and preaching were not with wise or persuasive words, but with a demonstration of the Spirit’s power, so that your faith may not rest on man’s wisdom, but on God’s power.” I Corth. 2:4
God bless you and we’ll see you on the beach!
Coach Kimo
